Need a ride to church??

The Let's Grow Team would like to hear if anyone would appreciate a ride to Church, either on a regular basis or occasionally. Also, do you know someone who you think might appreciate a ride and might be reluctant to ask? Please contact Ray or Donna Mattholie @ 821-2032.

Photos, Please - We are looking for photos of our Parish events to compile a library. This will be used to provide a silent slide show at future events, such as Church Suppers. Please consider this opportunity to keep a record of our events by giving copies or e-mailing your pictures to Carol Wilson (peter.wilson@ns.sympatico.ca). The Let's Grow Committee
thanks the ACW for this great idea.

The Bay Refugee Project is calling on the community to help with finding suitable housing for refugee families. Refugee families are arriving in Nova Scotia and need secure, comfortable, and affordable accommodation to start their new life in our community. If you have a house or apartment for rent, and would be interested in renting to a refugee family, please contact Beverly Carlsen at her email:

Our preference is for housing that is within proximity to services such as schools, shops, and transport, but all offers will be considered. Thank you for helping us to find a new home for families who have lost theirs!

When is a bedkit not just a bedkit? When thinking of a bedkit, we tend to think of a ground mattress and a blanket. The Sleeping Children Around the World bedkit contains so much more than that. Each bedkit contains: Ground Mat, Mattress, Pillow, Pillow Case, Blanket, Sheet, Mosquito Net, T-Shirt, Dresses (girls), Shorts/Shirts (boys), Underwear, Hooded Jacket, Flip Flops, Umbrella, Backpack, Exercise Books, Small Texts, English-Bengali Dictionary and School Supplies. Children who receive bedkits are needy economically but sometimes they have additional needs. The contents of a bedkit gives extra comfort to these children and their families. Why not consider purchasing a SCAW bedkit in honour of that special someone in your life? Teams will be distributing kits in Uganda in May and Tanzania in July. A picture of your bed kit recipient will arrive before Christmas. Please contact Louise at 902-826-2004, thechristies@ns.sympatico.ca if you would like to purchase a bedkit. For more information about the Sleeping Children project visit: www.scaw.or

St. George’s Parking: Due to safety concerns with sight lines when exiting the carpark, it is requested that only cars (not SUV’s or vans) use the two top spaces between those reserved for the rector/organist and the road. Everyone is reminded that there is some additional parking space at the rear of the church. Thank you for your co-operation!

Toilet Paper.....something we all need! Please continue to donate toilet paper to the food bank using the boxes found at each church. Thank you for your support, from the Mothers' Union.

PWRDF is active in 26 countries, with 59 partners drawn from Anglican churches, ecumenical organizations, and community-based groups. PWRDF supports people-centered development that improves the quality of daily life for vulnerable populations, promotes self-reliance, and addresses root causes of poverty and injustice.  Do you want to make a difference? Do you want to help navigate our churches and parish through the joys and challenges facing the life of the parish? The work of our Parish Council is important to sustain the ministries of our churches and to meet the day to day commitments. You can take an active role in developing a strategy for our ongoing ministries and future growth. We are in immediate need of a Recording Secretary for Parish Council and Parish Wardens in February 2017. Unfortunately, our finances dictate that we cannot offer a signing bonus but Rev Brieanna speaks highly (no pun intended!) of heavenly rewards. Please chat/e-mail with Rev Brieanna or Donna Mattholie if you would like to be a part of the team working together for God’s mission.
