Mothers' Union Prayer

Loving Lord

We thank you for your love so freely given to us all.

We pray for the families around the world.

Bless the work of the Mothers’ Union

As we seek to share your love

Through the encouragement, strengthening

And support of marriage and family life.

Empowered by your Spirit,

May we be united in prayer and worship,

And in love and service

Reach out as your hands across the world.

In Jesus’name. Amen

Anglican Church Women

Three of the Parish's churches have an active Anglican Church Women (ACW) group.

St. Georges Anglican Church, ACW, Head of St Margaret's Bay. St. Georges ACW has an enrollment of nine members with an average of seven attending each meeting. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month beginning in October and ending in June. Our fund raising consists of a Fall Supper in November and a Spring Supper in April or May. We also cater for a number of receptions and funerals.

Our aim is to unite women in a fellowship of worship and to help our church, our community and the world. We open and close each meeting with prayer. We support Bonnie Lee Farm, The Food Bank, Blankets for Canada, Street Connection, Christmas boxes for the Mission to Seafarers. We give gifts to children less fortunate at Christmas in the White Gift Program and donate to the Primate's World Relief Development program. Every year we go to Shoreham Village Retirement Home in Chester in the month of September help celebrate the birthdays of the residents who have a birthday that month. We give each one a gift bag filled with things they can use. We also conduct a sing song. Some of our members belong to the Altar Guild and provide a worthwhile service for our church. We have always supported our Sunday School and purchase supplies, including bibles. We remember our Veterans and war dead on November 11 by attending the service and laying a wreath at the Cenotaph. In recent years we have supported St. Georges by buying new tables and chairs, new kitchen cupboards, a folding bench for the entry way,  Repair of vessels used in services, work and supply of fire retardant paint in the chancel and the repair of one of the stained glass windows. Each Christmas we remember many shut-ins in our parish, giving fruit baskets or plants. We donated to St. Georges Round Church rebuilding fund and also to St. Johns in Lunenburg after the fire in both churches. We have hosted the Annual Lunenburg St.Margaret's Region ACW meetings and attend those meetings in other churches. Rhoda Tupper, Secretary.
